Audiobook/VO Recording
Our studio is conveniently located in the North Hollywood Arts District of Los Angeles. Record either with an experienced engineer at the helm, or self-record with our brand-new Pro Tools recording setup. Basic hourly rates listed below for audiobook recording. AUDIOBOOK SELF-RECORDING: $30 Per Studio Hour
We’ll set you up with everything you need to record yourself day or night. Comfortable headphones, iPad, and FTP/internet access always available for your use. Our new Simplify NoHo location is just half a mile from the North Hollywood Red Line Metro station, and a 2 minute drive from the 170 freeway.
AUDIOBOOK ENGINEERED SESSION: $60 Per Studio Hour
Prefer the assistance of a trained engineer? Need to focus on performance and not just the wordlist or punching in at just the right spot? We offer engineering services for any audiobook project. Every one of our engineers has years of experience in audiobook-specific work, and will help you quickly finish your project, and let you focus on the acting!
AUDIOBOOK DIRECTED SESSION: $80 Per Studio Hour
Simplify co-owner Adam James Conner has 15 years (and counting!) of audiobook experience, having worked on over 2,000 titles in that time—including experienced readers, award-winning stage and screen actors, authors, and many a brand-new, first-time reader. Sessions will be tailored specifically to your project to make sure we deliver the best performance and recording possible for your project.

Audiobook Post-production

EDITING: $65/$110 (Punch/Roll)
Punch Recorded Audio ($65)—Price Per Finish Hour (PFH) of audio—Cleaning up of extraneous noises, fixing timing issues, and marking/placing pickups for any misreads or unfixable noises in punch recorded audio.
Roll Recorded Audio ($110)-Price per finished (PFH) of audio— Removing bad/incomplete takes, smoothing punches, cleaning up of extraneous noises, fixing timing issues, and marking/placing pickups for any misreads or unfixable noises in punch recorded audio.
MASTERING: $25DL/$30DDP
Price PFH of audio—Ensuring your finished project meets publisher technical specs, through the use of light compression, limiting, mild EQ or noise reduction as necessary. For Download only projects (DL) the rate is $25/pfh, or if your project is going to a physical distributor, DDP files can be generated as well at $30pfh total.
PROOFING (QC): $45
Price PFH of audio—This is a dedicated listening pass where we listen for any misreads, editing errors/technical glitches, or continuity errors.

We offer fully produced and polished commercial demos, with custom music, sound effects, and professional mixing and mastering. Need copy? No problem! We can also work with you to provide copy that works with your individual strengths as an actor.

Mixing is one of the most critical steps in any music production. With EQ, compression, editing, unique effects and level-setting, your music can go from raw recordings to the vision you always imagined your art could be. Save on each mix by collaborating on more songs at once. Mixing-engineer Brandon Dattoli has worked for major LA studios with world-class talent in many genres. With Simplify, your songs will truly come to life.

MASTERING:

7+ Songs - $35 per song
Mastering is more than just adding loudness. It's ensuring that your mix will sound good wherever you listen to it—your car stereo, earbuds, your laptop speakers, even grandma's old RCA cabinet. Don't trust an algorithm with your creative works—we carefully master each song individually to bring the most out of the mix and performance.

Simplify Productions is the culmination of years of experience in the entertainment industry—in music, audiobooks, podcasting, film sound and more (heck, there was even a play or two in there somewhere!) We love the idea of making the creative process as easy and fun as possible for you. We also work hard to make sure you sound as amazing as you should.
We offer audiobook post-production, full music production, mixing and mastering for songs you've already recorded, and much more. Not sure what you need?
